Llewelyn Davies’ competition entry for the General Hospital of Pljevlja, Montenegro, is based on a sustainable, pre-fabricated timber building. This idea takes advantage of a strong domestic timber market in the region and a high level of pre-fabrication knowledge in southeastern Europe.

About the project

The medical planning for this hospital followed the clinical brief and aimed to provide a well-structured building where all main hospital functions can be accessed from a central atrium. All patient areas are provided with natural light and offer views of the surrounding landscape.
